Indeed, happy anniversary, and may you have many more! Nothing enriches one's life quite so much as a life partner who is there for the good times and the bad, to deliver frequent hugs and kisses--and the occasional necessary boot to the hind end.

So now that I know it is their anniversary, how many years does that make? And what would be the traditional gift to give the couple? Anybody know?
p.s. Congratulations! What a nice couple you make :grinning:

It was their 42nd anniversary. I googled it and according to a couple of sources it says developed real estate is the appropriate gift. Who knew? :biggrin2:

I have a piece of land they can have. It's in a shoebox. What's their address? And if I send it will they then have another address?

Developed real estate? Maybe he could buy another megamansion in Florida? Tell him the real estate prices in Winnipeg Manitoba are the best in Canada. Plus we have the added bonus of the largest Aboriginal population in any major city. We could have a pow wow down at The Forks. If none of this makes sense just Google Winnipeg or as some call it "Winterpeg" Wow - 42 years. I was 13 when they got married.

Way cool! I was married the first time in 1971, too. Had I known that could have been a gift on the 42nd anniversary, it might have been worth sticking it out. Hmmmmm....nah! :biggrin2:

One day, got a note from them: "Leave tomorrow." So I moved out. That same day the house lifted off! The other day I got an email from The Andromeda Galaxy: "Wish you were here."

Happy Anniversary, Mr. & Mrs. King.

I'm assuming the developed real estate traditional gift came in the form of the purchase of Johnny Depp's private island, since he's about to move his butt to Nashville.
I haven't had a sighting yet, but rumor has it that he'll be here some time this month. I'm still determining where he lives and how Sundrop and I can go about stalk- er, I mean saying "howdy" in that inimitably nice Southern way we both have.

It involves red lipstick, champagne, and a getaway car in case we need it.

But in the meantime, I hope the anniversary island is just what the Kings have dreamed of.

Well, might be stretching the definition a bit, but I guess if you consider it in the context of land that's been enhanced by a foundation or other form that gives/has structure, that would work. :wink2:

I don't know - I think developed real estate can also mean improved real estate

So how does one improve on this?

..."Thelma & Louise Ride Again"....

We would have done it in L.A. had Paul Stanley been in town (don't look at me - ask Sundrop).
So we had to make do with kumquat margaritas, Hawaiian barbecue, and my copy of Greater Tuna.
The most Thelma & Louise we got was braving the insane crowds down on Hollywood Boulevard for a movie premiere at Graumann's Chinese. :eek2:
Sad but true.

Now that the Deppster is moving to my 'hood (sort of) (well, not really....more like 14 miles away), we can go crazy!

....so where was I in wishing the Kings "happy anniversary"? - Oh, yeah.....the private island part of the best wishes for them.
