I can't find much news on this. Volume 1: The Road of Trials is from May 2010, when is the rest coming?
Sorry if this question is already answered, but forums can be quite a maze to me sometimes.

The publisher decided not to do a second arc of The Talisman comic.

Thanks. That's too bad. Was there a reason given for this?

Not a public one other than that they decided not to pursue it.

Before the comics started coming out (for The Talisman) the guy that owns the comic bookstore where I get my King comics asked me if I would be getting the Talisman ones, and if so he would set aside a copy for me. I said I wasn't sure. He said that they weren't planning on ordering alot of copies as the interest wasn't as much as for the Dark Tower ones. I got the impression that he had asked other people who were getting the Tower comics and got the same response. :dunno:

...which, given the decent start-was foolish...

My comics guy couldn't get copies regularly. He'd order them and they'd never show up. My perception is that the publisher didn't have their act together.
I didn't think the comics were particularly good, though, so I didn't mind that they didn't continue.

...what was your issue with the issues?....

Usually it's disappointing sales.
The prequel was black and white, which may have people confused if the whole book was that way.
The only other thing could be rights issues, but that's unlikely.
Or an artist got ill or died. Can't think of any other reasons, a ban seems unlikely too.
But if even here it's not known, it's a well kept secret.
Too bad, I hate things unfinished.

I didn't like the art at all, and the story felt rushed. Plus, if I'm being honest, The Talisman is one of my least-favorite King works to begin with.

Ultimately, I'd imagine that's exactly what it came down to. Obviously, I'm only one dude, but I tried my damnedest to get each issue as it came out, but only ended up with #3 and #4. (And the hardback, when it came out.)
I'm practically the definition of the target audience for that comic, so if the publisher was having trouble getting issues into my hands, then they were almost certainly having problems getting them into anyone's hands.
And that is a surefire recipe for low sales. I suspect that there was and is an audience for those comics, but that Del Rey simply had no clue how to find it.
