I've watched four episodes and am finding it a bit irritating and silly.
Lots of weird stuff keeps happening because of 'The Troubles' - it seems a bit nonsensical.
At least in Smallville they could blame everything on kryptonite.

I liked the second season a lot more than the first. It seemed to figure out its own mythology by that point instead of just being the crazy incident of the week.

I tried very hard to get into this series because of ties with The Colorado Kid, but it just didn't keep my interest.

Did you watch any of season two, or give up during season one?
I almost bailed during the first season too, so I am just wondering.

I really enjoy the show but I can find new episodes. Is it still running? i have been looking for it, but I can never find it.

They're filming the third season right now.

I agree, it's picking up speed. The first season was okay and interesting at times.

The old episodes are on YouTube and there are a few of season two on Hulu. I know what you mean about the old timey technology. I still use my VCR to record things, that is if I remember to feed the gerbils what run the cogs.
This is the first episode of season one on the YouTubes.

Guess I'll stick with it then, I quite like the characters in it. And the main woman's hot. I know that's very shallow but it does help.

I like the three main actors, and that is about it; otherwise, it is a thoroughly mediocre show, and it has virtually nothing to do with Stephen King's works apart from a few tongue-in-cheek references. You can get that on Family Guy.

I think when the it goes more into the background of the main characters it gets much better. This happens more towards the end of the first season and in the second season. Otherwise what you have is just the 'trouble of the week', which indeed is not too captivating always, especially since they tend to have a rather abrupt conclusion.

I can say this much I was asked to do background again but I couldn't due to my full time job requirements. I was asked to play a "military man" and they even asked me to get a crew cut. The episode takes place in the 1950's and I do believe that season 3 delves deeper into the backgrounds of the three main characters.

That sounds interesting.
I have to echo others here. The first season was tepid at best, but things really perked in season two. I'm anticipating season three.

I've only seen trailers for the next season of Haven, but it looks like it's going to be a doozy. I really like the show, but it has almost nothing to do with the original story. And while I GET the point of the original story, I STILL found it kind of irritating.

I got first season of Haven to Christmas and I just loved it. Today I bought the second season and have
start to watch it already. Is so good.

Not in my opinion. I did bale after season 1, but just couldn't care enough to attempt season 2.

You made the right choice; the six or seven episodes I saw were terrible.

Stuck with it (well actually stopped watching for a month or so and watched some other DVDs), got better. Admittedly it didn't get better until the last 3 or 4 episodes but the improvement was remarkable.
The set up for season two was epic.

The show has gotten progressively better each season. In the second season the actors/writers came together and created 3 likable leads. In this third season, the show has done a fantastic job of expanding the mythology. On the flip side, the handling of character relations took a down turn as the show fell on old tropes of not having the characters talk to each other or introducing third parties - which scream temporary - to muddle things up.
Too bad, because now that the show is down to the final 2 or 3 episodes of the third season, all the character clutter has been removed and the show has improved because of it.

Much improved over this season. The first season seemed "hokey", although a few flashes of interesting material.

I did not like the first two seasons at all -- so imagine my surprise upon finding myself enjoying the third season quite a bit.
The show could still use some improvement -- and it still has almost nothing to do with The Colorado Kid -- but I enjoyed every episode of this season, and am now actually looking forward to the next.

Yes by the second season the writers and actors had really found the characters. In the third season the mythology really became interesting as well with a great cliffhanger. On the downside, the writers went back to the cliched romantic triangle well and employed the weak story telling device of prolonging conflicts by not having characters talk to each other.
I like the characters a lot and the mythology just wish the writing of the characters did them proper justice.
My favorite episode of the third season was Last Goodbyes which niftily paralleled and foreshadowed Audrey's season arc. For more in depth analysis head over to Lilja's Library where Lilja and I review the series. We reviewed the last 4 episodes in the Lilja&LouPodcast in Episode 14: Lilja & Lou Close The Barn Doors On Haven Season 3.
