So I got a copy of Skeleton Crew today! Are there any stories in this collection I should read first, or should I just read it straight through?

Front to back. I don't understand why anyone would skip around the first time through.

I agree with Doc Wilson. Start at the beginning and just keep going for it. I never understood skipping around in a short story collection either.

I'd say that start from the beginning and read to the end. It's a great book.

Dude, just look through the titles, and pick whatever jumps out! You can read in any order you want! Some of my picks:

Mrs. Todd's Shortcut

The Mist

Wordprocessor of the Gods

Survivor Type

Tell me yours after you read them! Oh, enjoy!

All the stories are great! This is my favorite short story collections by King. I would also start from the beginning. Don't skip any.

Collection books are a good way to pass a short amount of time, I would never read one from start to finish. Unfortunately though, I was looking for a realy short story as a little something to read between DT books 3 and 4, and chose Here There Be Tygers, I'm sorry to say this but I cant help but feel I wasted my time. That could have been shortened to less than a Haiku, "3 people go into a room with a tiger, no body seems to get eaten, but only one comes out. End"

Read in whatever order you want but definitely make sure you read the introduction, it's outstanding!

Come on! Here There Be Tygers is a classic! Who doesn't remember Miss Bird from their own elementary school?

There's a...preview...of Doctor Sleep in that short "In the Tall Grass"...if you get a chance, check it out if you haven't already. Kitchens are safe.
