Here you go, zelmonster (and anyone else who would like to join in), a place where SKMB acronyms, colloquialisms, aphorisms, etc. can be posted for the uninitiated. :smile2: Great idea!
Feel free to add on ones I've forgotten or correct descriptions.
DFTT = Don't Feed the Trolls
used when a poster is perceived to be posting a message intended only to be inciting argument
AW(insert initial)S = And What (person whose initial is being used) Said
used to state agreement with a comment made by referenced person in a previous post
Azzhat:
Definition from Urban Dictionary (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=azzhat)
azzhat; (plural) azzhats: noun (pronounced with the "z" sounding like an "s" but not quite enough to actually be accused of saying "ass")
Used in public as a replacement for a**hole, but usually in reference to someone who is such an a**hole that they will not even realize that you are talking about them.
Anyone so hateful, chauvinistic, bigoted, etc. that they should wear their ass for a hat. Usually, but not always used in reference to someone who is willfully ignorant, hypocritical, and/or has extreme homophobia, religious intolerance, or fascist ideology.
POTW = Pigeon of the Web
Used when someone has posted a negative comment perceived to be intended to incite argument and then never returns.

Term of respect taken from Dark Tower series

And that same dear friend would bump the thread to explain this for the Newbies:
Love and green lights............ While reading the Tao Te Ching, a book of 81 concepts for life, I came across a modern day translation by Dr Wayne Dyer. His favorite saying is: I send you love and all green lights. That phrase caught me in a special way.
The love part is basic, but within the Tao is has greater meaning. Love is the desire to give and not look for reward from anyone. When we chose love we are taken to higher consciousness, both inner and upward. Life becomes harmonious and free from strain.
The green lights is a comparison to ones life path and a traffic light. Picture traveling down a busy highway and needing to stop at each red light. Your travel is not smooth and free flowing. However, if you experience only ( all) green lights, your travel is clear sailing. On your journey of life, if you experience all green lights, your path is smooth and free. To wish one no harm, nothing to stop them in their journey.
This is why I wish you love and green lights. A life's journey filled with love and a smooth path to travel.

Tritto - to further echo someone else's ditto.

Tritto-
What comes after when someone has used the term 'ditto' (meaning I second that, be it an idea, a belief, etc.) with 'tritto' being the third acceptance of said stated idea, belief, etc.

Ka can mean fate, destiny, or God's will. From the Dark Tower series. Sound about right, Ms. Mod?

Burrito is all mine. It is to signify when the discussion has become pointless. It says, "burritos are just as relevant as your point". It is also to signify when a thread has devolved to bickering and is no longer of any use. Another usage is "hey, lighten the F up, dude".
It just means thing have gotten so silly, why not talk about burritos instead? They are just as important.

Ka is like "The Force" from Star Wars in a way, but also fate and karma, all wrapped into one. It is also a wheel and we all ride upon it.

:y: except I might change that to Gan's Will to keep it in the Dark Tower context.

Ka = Ka (Dark Tower) a mysterious force that leads all living (and unliving) creatures. It is the will of Gan, the approximate equivalent of destiny or fate...Ka can be considered to be a guide, a destination, but is certainly not a plan - at least, not one that is known to mortals. Ka is not necessarily a force of good or evil; it manipulates both sides, and seems to have no definite morality of its own. The official Dark Tower site (see below) describes ka as the following: "Ka... signifies life-force, consciousness, duty and destiny. In the vulgate, or low speech, it also means a place to which an individual must go."

Ka-Tet: Literally speaking, ka-tet means "one made from many." Ka refers to destiny; tet refers to a group of people with the same interests or goals. Ka-tet is the place where man's lives are joined by fate.
Tet: A group of people with the same interests and goals.
Thinny, Thinnies: Thinnies are places where the fabric of existence has almost completely worn away. These cancerous "sores on the skin of existence" have increased in number since the Dark Tower began to fall.
Todash: In Wolves of the Calla, we are told that traveling todash is similar to the state of lucid dreaming. However, unlike lucid dreaming, both body and mind travel todash. On SKMB often means one who has disappeared or not been seen posting for awhile.

I think PatInTheHat is unexplainable...:biggrin2: (except I think he's just PatTheHat now) ((unless it means something else I'm unaware of?))
Also, I'll add AWSS means And What Spidey Said. You can replace the person and initials with whoever you want to repeat.

You know, this one actually took me a long time to figure out! I even looked it up to see if it was some new acronym I wasn't aware of. All the references led me back here. Finally I sorted it out by context, but I'm glad to know I was right!

:biggrin2: . . . define.
This sometimes seems to be used sarcastically, sometimes as a smile mixed in with a little burst of laughter(and bouncing of the shoulders), and other times, members use this as a simple grin like smile. Of course, the smiley board lists' it as a big grin....
For the SKMB, is this definable???

Defang (v.) = to issue a formal warning to a longterm Boardmember who's allowed his/her snark levels in public posts to rise to unacceptable levels. Said warning always comes from a Board Moderator. Usually stops the Boardmember from becoming a troll and restores love and whirled peas in a matter of days.
Example: "Susie was defanged by Ms. Mod because she continued to attack PatIntheHat about his Kentuckyspeak...she got a week's suspension from the Board as a result of her snark. Susie's SUCH an azzhat."

I'm thinking that there are a few others too, but I can't remember them because they have fallen into disuse. Sad.
But this is a great thread in which to keep track of them.
While we are on the subject though, can someone explain to me how a snake? named Spyro? got into the Ka-tet Cantina in the first place?

Patricia- do you remember when we'd all bring our critters to the Cantina? The Llamas too:oh: A member had a pet snake named Buckwheat and it came one day. MsMod, and several others were not great fans of snakes. So, a safe zone was set up, and then it was decided Buckwheat would only visit on Thursday. Eventually, Buckwheat had a friend, Pyro join him. In order to keep the Cantina safe, I started placing the sign in the window each Thursday as a reminder that they were in the House.
