i've seen the movie "it" before and would love to watch it again but will it honestly ruin anything i dont already know? i'm 453 pages in and i'm honestly about to just watch the movie again but continue to read the book as well because, damn, i havent fallen in love with a book like this since the shining.

If you've already seen the movie - I wouldn't think that you will see anything that will spoil your enjoyment of the book. If anything, I think the movie will help you appreciate just how complex and rich the universe of the novel is in comparison.

I would wait until you finish the book before watching the movie. It might not ruin anything for you--but it might.

well...start off by saying my brother (who is dead now....) handed me It at some point, said here, read this, this is good. I've read tha story like about five or six times now...in fact...i think it might be the 1st sk story i ever read. but it didn't hook me...even though it is an excellent story.

i'
m a late bloomer.

or...that might be gragging...saying I bloom.

what was your question? yeah...the shining was great too...that was the 1st 1st sk for me...jack nicholson...thought the movie was ahoot...all work and no play makes jack a dull focking boy. ha ha ha ha ha! snowed in like that. i live in an area where 400" winters aren't uncommon, so yeah, i get it all.

now..the movie, it, with john boy walton and the others...i dunno. i saw the stand movie, langoliers...not much of a movei person, even though at one point in my life i was a regular walker percy movie goer. anyway...

do what is best. onward and upward.

I would refrain from watching the film if you cant remember the jist of the story, that way you will enjoy the book more, I think if you rrad the book to the end first, you will have plenty of "oh yeah, I forgot about that" or "wow, that is much more in depth than I remember the film being" moments.

The bad acting will horrify you, other than that-no worries...

In my opinion, if you have any doubts, you should wait to re-watch the movie. Enjoy the book for it's fabulous self. And then watch the movie to refresh your memory of the movie for what it is. No mix-ups that way. :-)

Watching the movie while you read the book will, probably, lock in the actors as the characters in your mind's eye. I tend to prefer my own visualizations whenever possible. Aside from that, the differences between the book and movie are so huge that it is unlikely to detract from your reading of the book. I suspect you would simply find them movie to be empty calories. My own suggest is to finish the the book and then watch it again.
