This new 2011-2012 school year at Washburn District High School in Washburn, Maine, I'm teaching a new writing course called On Writing, in tribute to Mr. King. Students will write articles for a class newspaper or class magazine and will publish various books, such as poetry and children's books. For homework, they will read selections from Mr. King's On Writing book.

I am honored to be teaching this course. I just wish every student had access to a laptop. I'll make it work as best as I can though. Any suggestions from anyone would be great!
Also, I might add, Mr. King and his wife Tabitha have been very generous to our school. They have given our school Nooks for our library. As an English teacher, I have seen MANY students reading books via the Nooks. The Kings' contribution has made a long-lasting impact on the lives of our students.
