I have just this minute started The Stand and am already enjoying the Preface In to Parts. Part one to be read before purchase, is interesting it really feels like SK is in the bookstore beside you and talking to you and looking at this version of The Stand that you have in your hands. Thats what I like about his books - you really feel like your in the book with him:wow:

I completely agree! The Intro/Preface parts that SK puts in his books do make me feel like he is right there talking to me. :biggrin2:

He and Dean Koontz have a knack for writing to thousands of people, yet you feel as if they are sitting in the(insert favorite reading room here)chewin' the fat...

I was floored in the preface when SK said that even though The Stand is what seems to have made the biggest impression on his readers.... it is not one of his favorites.

I have to say, it's not one of my favorites too. The ending was a bit of a disappointment after so many pages of buildup.
But maybe it was just the hyping every King fan seems to do (no offense, obviously, I'm the same with the titles I like). Then again, maybe I just need to re-read it again, some time. I didn't really like Christine the first time around either, and a second reading can really do wonders.
