Watched an older Jeff Bridges movie last night "The Last Picture show", not sure if many of you have seen it but i wanted to give the man his own thread and some credit. Alot of people have jumped on the JB bandwagon because of True Grit but man he's been around for awhile and the man can flat out act! Some of my favorite Jeff Bridges movies are...

The Last Picture Show
The Last Unicorn (yeah was a voice role but movie kicked arse & needs some love lol)
Against all Odds
Starman
8 million ways to die
Tucker: The man and his dreams
Fabulous Baker Boys (with his bro)
Texasville
The Fisher King (Terry Gilliam!!)
American Heart (awesome very moving flick w/ Edward Furlong)
The Vanishing
White Squall
Fearless
Blown Away
Arlington Road
The Contender

Yes i left off Lebowski, True Grit, Crazy Heart & Tron and those are really great...just wanted to list some of the lesser known ones. Most of those were before he was considered "Big" to alot of people. Glad he get's the recognition he deserves now but i do feel like he was under-appreciated in the past, it's funny how people remember him as "The Dude" but not as alot of other great characters. Just my 2-cents and Kudos to you Mr. Bridges

He was awesome in "Door In The Floor" too which was a really good adaptation of the first third of John Irving's "Widow for A Year".

I just saw True Grit and it was truly awesome!
His performance in "Fearless" gave me goosebumps.

That's funny. I'm reading The Last Picture Show right now.

And I agree, Bridges is the man. The Last Unicorn! I haven't thought of that flick in years. Is he the prince? I can't imagine he's the wizard.

American Heart is well done, but it's also a miserably depressing movie.

I hear The Last Picture Show is a great movie. That might be the next one on my list.
Tucker: A Man and his Dream is excellent, and Arlington Road is underrated in my opinion.

Yes he was the Prince's voice in unicorn, i actually need to watch A door in the Floor haven't seen that one yet. As for American Heart...yeah it was extremely depressing but well done and very true in alot of cases.

Oh, I forgot about Door in the Floor. Awesome movie. Bridges and Irving is a winning combo.

Who does he play in Last Picture Show? Sonny, I assume?

He plays Duane, Texasville is the follow up....alot of people missed that one. Picks up 30 years after the first one in 1984 i believe.
Just read also that he would like to make a sequel to Starman (which they left on a bit of a cliffhanger) and another 3rd film following Texasville...i would be all over both of those.

Can't have a proper Jeff Bridges list, without at least an honorable mention of his movie with Clint Eastwood, Thunderbolt & Lightfoot...great flick:cool2:!

The Fisher King (Terry Gilliam!!)

Jeff Bridges is also in the movie Tideland written and directed by Terry Gilliam. I enjoyed the movie a lot. You might check it out if you haven't already. Jeff doesn't talk a lot in it so I don't know how you would judge the acting. The little girl in it did an amazing job though!

I liked him in the Hyundai and Duracell ads. His best work yet, if you ask me.

I noticed Crazy Heart isn't getting any mention...That was a VERY powerful movie. Well, powerful if you lived that life and saw it done so well on screen. I can't recommend it enough. True Grit was the last movie I absolutely had to see on opening day...the only one out there that I will run to see on opening day is Cowboys and Aliens :)

Yes!

Think i'm going to Netflix that this weekend, it's been years since i actually sat down and really "watched" it. Might have a nice little 80's sci-fi night...StarMan, The Last Starfighter & Enemy Mine. I know two of those have "Star" couldn't think of a third so i went with Enemy Mine. Dennis Quaid is another one of my favs so it's a win/win lol.
