I challenge anyone who actually saw this back in the day to say they didn't like it...at least a little. Robert Englund all creepified with his busted ass legs, the folding machine, haunted laundry press and the ending actually freaked me out pretty good. Need i mention Ted Levine, he put the lotion on it's skin or it got the hose again!!! Come one people go to imdb and vote to get this little jewel above a 3.2...that's just sad Quicksilver highway got a damn 4.6 and was nominated for a primetime emmy..yeah it was for sound but still!!

Vote or i'll feed you to the Mangler!!!

I remember the movie lol. I was really really young though. I think I remember reading the short story first. It was in a collection of stories where my favorite was the Night Shift (or something like that) about people working in a basement. That was my favorite King story when I was young.

Yes I liked it. Mangler part 2 was not so good.

I was weaned on those old black & white horror movies, and when I began choosing my own reading material it wasn't long until I discovered SK. Been happy ever since

Hi,

Ain't dat de troof, Seb?

Even a bad adaptation of an SK story is better than 99% of the Follywood eye fodder!

Absolutely... Cloverfiled is one that springs to mind for awful Hollywood films... Along with as you say, most of the movies the Hollywood Money Machine churns out

I didn't see it when I was a kid. I actually just watched it a few months ago. It had some comical bits in it, and I loved the casting. Yes, I liked it and wish I had seen it when I was younger. Maybe I wouldn't have been so afraid of Freddy. :wink2:

Thanks for the post! Didn't know it was a movie, but (odd as it may sound) was a cherished story from my childhood! Can't wait to try to find the movie version... altho we all know the movies are never as good as the written version!
