I'm about 3/4 through INSOMNIA, and am really enjoying it. However, I lost a little admiration and respect for Lois when she demanded that Ralph not kill Charlie Pickering, even after he brutally murdered a pregnant woman and the sweet Gretchen Tillbury, and would have killed many other innocent women and children if not for Ralph and Lois' intervention. Perhaps it's a minor quibble, but I REALLY wanted Pickering to pay the price for his many misdeeds.
Of course, I haven't finished the book yet, so there may be some reason why sai King has left Pickering alive. Still - after the many innocents and good folk who have died in very nasty ways throughout King's many books and stories, to leave such a nasty individual alive leaves me quite perturbed and unfulfilled.
