Translation question

Hello everybody,
I have a question regarding the title "Just after sunset".
Her in France, "Sunset" can have two meanings : the dusk light before night and the dusk light before dawn.
Which one do you think SK meant in his title? I personaly think that it is the light just before the night. :cool2:

Before night. We call the one in the morning sunrise.

It's at night. Here the light at dawn would be sunrise. Sun "set" is referring to the sun dropping below the horizon and the sky darkening. Sun "rise" is the sun coming up above the horizon and daylight.

I agree with you. Sunset is when the sun sets at night.

The common vernacular connotation for "sunset" regards when the sun hits the horizon as it orbits around the earth.

The opposite is "sinrise."

I don't know if you know the team who used to answer the people who wrote letters to M. SK back in 1997, but I wrote him a letter once at that time and i did receive an answer, and even though it was not by M. SK's hand, I really appreciated it.

Have been working for Steve since 1988 and did do physical fan mail responses in 1997 but chances are your letter came from Julie Eugley who does the international fan mail. We split the fan mail up geographically so that we didn't duplicate responses.
