I have been searching high and low for an audiobook format of The Stand for a long time now and have only found the Books On Tape inc. version made for public libraries.
The Stand is considered by some to be seminal Stephen King epic. Wouldn't it be appropriate for this book to played out in a full cast audio drama?
Upon searching Audible.com I have come across hundreds of full cast recordings made for many great classics including The Count of Monte Christo, and Oliver Twist and well as more current work like Enders Game, Left Behind and the Original Star Wars Radio drama.
The Stand would be a perfect match for this stage. The characters are vivid, the tale is epic and the narraration would be riveting.
So many other Stephen King books are readily available in audiobook format, I would hope that his publishers would see the wisdom in creating a truly amazing story in a full cast audio setting. It would be an instant classic.
