This is one of my favorite movies of all times, not only because of the awesome soundtrack by ac-dc but because of all the big trucks. I love big trucks and this is a movie that makes you respect them a little bit more.

I agree Maximum is one of my favorite movies. I just wish I could find it on DVD so I could buy it. I cannot seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know if it is even on DVD yet?

Have a great day all : )

The best part of the movie to me is not only the AC/DC soundtrack but the fact that the individual songs are inserted at just the right moments of the movie. Take the scene with the boy riding his bike down the street or the scene towards the end with the trucks charging the store.

Sometimes you have a film with a great soundtrack but when you hear the songs, they are out of place and don't quite fit that particular scene in the movie. Fortunately, the AC/DC songs in Maximum Overdrive tend to work well the way they are used.

I simply LOVED this movie! in my SK chart of movies it goes; Dolores Claiborne 9.7, Misery 9.7, Stand By Me 9.5 and then Maximum Overdrive 9.2.

soundtrack, plot, cast, crew, director + screenplay (SK) all great!

now unless I am mistaken (and I probably am being an SK newbie) isn't this an extended version of the short story from 'Night Shift' called 'Trucks' also was there a movie adapted from 'Trucks' too?

Thanks go to whoever started this post. I haven't seen the movie in forever and went and bought it for my collection just by reading this. It has been forever since I saw it so I'm getting off here and watching it.

Peace, Love, and Green Lights for all

Recently watched it and christ, amazingly good. I read that apparently Stephen was off his head on drugs when he directed that, even though it ws nominated for a razzie he should direct again soon. Seriously, I almost vomited when i saw the steamroller run over that kid, even without the blood splatting everywhere . We need move movements like that

I own Maximum Overdrive on DVD and is a pretty good Saturday movie. If I don't have anything else to watch. But AC/DC music in the movie is great.

I drive the Interstate to work every day...I think it's happening on a small scale already...that or the other drivers are just a pasty faced bunch of Bozos...

It was one of the first stephen king movies I had ever seen and I loved it. THe acting is great and it seemed so real at least to me. I laughed after watching it a fifth time though thinking Spolier that since all the electronic items where the killers that the amish where safe.

This is my first post on the forum so I thought it would be fitting to start here, Max. Overdrive was the first movie I ever saw at a drive in. I loved it then, it opened up a whole new(SK)world for me... I'm still reading all the SK books and movies I can get my hands on, even listened to UR recently. Loved it too. I guess I'm not much of a SK critic cuz I love it all!!

This is one of my favorite movie adaptations of SK's work (not my favorite, but one of the top 10). The one chick is so incredibly annoying, but if she weren't in the movie it just wouldn't be the same!
