So I had never read a SK novel before. I must admit.. I'm a bit of a wuss... Well I decided to read The Dark Tower I, and I loved it. I finished it in about 8 hours. I went to the store and bought Carrie, Under The Dome and 'Salem's Lot.
I started out with 'Salems Lot first. I'm only about 150 pages in... and already I love it!
Wish me luck...

It's also one of my first SK books, too (I only got into him this year). It's an excellent book. Enjoy :D

No need for luck, it's in my top 3 favorite SK novels ever and the one I read the highest number of times. And just to give you something to look forward to: It even improves on a second reading!

I too am reading Salem's Lot for the first time. I thought my next read would be The Shining, but switched to Salem's Lot. My mom told me a story one time about how there was a hurricane and my Dad was reading Salem's Lot by candle or flashlight and right at the part where the Vamp was floating outside the kids window and knocking to let him in, a neighbor came over and knocked on the door. Scared the heck out of my Dad. That story never gets old only because macho Dad doesnt scare easily. I am looking forward to reading it.....I think.

Keep reading Dinky, you'll love it - I couldn't put it down when I started. It's top of my list for a re-read. And you should definitely try The Shining afterwards, that's another one I couldn't put down.

yes. A great read. I enjoyed it as well. I was never really into vampire type stories or movies until I read Salem's Lot.

I have just started reading this one, I have heard good things, but I have just read The Dead Zone and that will be hard to beat... even harder to beat Misery, but I look forward to it's challenge
... btw... I read Jeruselem's Lot first... should I have done that?
also correct me if I'm wrong but isn't 'Salem's Lot what the natives call Jeruselem's Lot or visa versa?
