You should make Christine 2 the first Christine was a good movie.

No sequel. The first one is good enough to stand on its own.
Welcome to the board, though!

I would support a sequel to Christine but I would rather see King write it as a novel first..then have it made into a movie.

If Sai King wrote the sequel as a novel, then I'd be all for a CHRISTINE Part 2.

A good SK novel, and a reasonable stab at a movie adaptation, but a strange first choice for a sequel, IMO.
I can't think that SK would be interested in revisiting this particular story, and a movie sequel based on a story written by someone else would be a non-starter for me.
If the man gets around to completing and publishing his sequel to "The Shining" however, that is gonna be one great story, and potentially, I would expect, a great movie too.
Time will tell. :cool2:

Are you kidding?? The film was a piece of garbage. Bad acting, bad script, bad special effects, bad ersatz-scary synth music.
Someone like Spielberg or Shyamalan or even Raimi needs to re-make it and do it right. The book was GREAT and it's been biding its time, waiting for a real filmmaker to do it justice and cast it with actors who have chops.
And if the book isn't done justice...well, it could display the same kind of temper Christine had.

I'm surprised they haven't made a Christine 2. They take his other movies that don't need a sequel and make them and something like Christine would have worked much better. Not that I want them to do that to Christine.

Oh no, Lil!!! :D I loved this movie! Of course, I was 17 or 18 when it came out, but I remember sitting in the theater and being completely into it.

This is odd, because in the foreword of the novel Stephen said his publisher wasn't highly impressed with the manuscript. I read the novel and thought it was great. I always wondered exactly why the publisher felt that way, as Stephen didn't go into much detail about the critique. But I quite
agree with the aboves who are against the re-make. I would let them do it [I]only[I] if the condition was met that I had to have the absolute final OK for release. I know it's asking almost the impossible, but that's what I would demand. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday, by the way.:)

The book was left kind of open-ended, but I don't think it was done in a way to make a sequel. I thought you were just supposed to be left thinking, "Oh crap, could Christine be outside my house RIGHT NOW??!?"
I'm with Lily Sawyer, I'd rather see the effort go into, um, correcting the first movie than making a second. It wasn't entirely awful, but it was not good either. They left out Roland D. LeBay! He was kind of important in the book... I put my thoughts about what I felt was missing from the book in the movie in an earlier post in another thread, you can read it here if you want: http://www.stephenking.com/forums/showthread.php/15576-What-a-Waste?p=352121#post352121
That said, if SK wrote a second book, I'd totally love to read it :) And, I'd run right down to the theater to see the movie they made from it, because I couldn't help myself! But, if I got a vote in the process (which I don't) I'd put the effort into a remake of the first...

i think that Stephen could do TWO books for a Christine thing. One could be a prequel with Roland Lebay's start with the car and ending it with him selling it to Arnie. Another could be a sequel set some odd years afterward, where a new kid buys the car at a used car lot or something ans slowly changes into the monster that inhabits. Either way, he could do it, but how good would it be is the real question.

I don't like to ruin SK's books by watching the movie. Guess I'm glad I missed Christine the movie. Because the book was awesome.

a Christine re-make would be awesome if done correctly. the original was good but did not do the book justice.
with the cgi now available it could be superb.
