Johnny Marinville - dead or alive?

Could any of you bright heads explain to me what the story is with Johnny Marinville? Is he dead? Is he alive? This confused me a lot during reading this faboulous novel.

i'm confused about your confusion. :biggrin2: kinda. i think i get what you're saying. he's alive, but like so many of us, he is/was in a blue funk and at times did/didn't know it. weren't you going ouch! on all those sharp rocks? i was. rocking and rolling in my chair the same way the old man split the defense whilst watching da bears.
