Hi there,
I hope you can help me out and stop this madness.
A simple question in my local pub divided the people in th bar into two equal sides.
The question was "What is the name of the mouse in The Green Mile?"
Half the room vowed it was Mr Jangles, the other half Mr Jingles.
As fate would have it the film was on over the weekend so I sat and watched it very carefully.
The first mouse reference clearly said "Mr Jangles". "Good." I thought, "That's that sorted."
Then later in the film the same person said "Mr Jingles" and then later changed it again. Several of the cast did this.
There were far more "Jangles" than "Jingles" so I decided on majority rule; Mr Jangles it is and wasn't there a song in the sound track called Beau Jangles?

...that was until the credits came up and the credits named the mouse Mr Jingles.

I suppose the book is the place to go but I don't have it . Can anyone be definitive on this?

Thanks in advance.

I love the fact that a whole bar got into a discussion about poor old Mr. Jingles.

And, I believe, where DeeArr mentions the first time his name is mentioned in the movie, saying Mr. Jangles, only sounded that was because of the heavy Southern accent.

Mr. Jingles

Mouse = Mr Jingles; Sammy Davis Junior (and others too numerous to mention) = Mr Bo-Jangles.

its mr. jIngles, i think their southern accent in the movie makes it sound like an A but in the books they refer to him as mr. jingles
