How many of you have "read" the DT audiobooks? Whoever invented audiobooks was a genius. I have listened to all of the ones that were ever done for the DT series. The ones that SK recorded, the ones that Frank Muller did, and the ones that George Guidell did. I really enjoyed the ones that SK did, it just felt so cool to be listening to the DT series being read by the man that wrote it. And my favorites are the ones done by Frank Muller, he is the one that I hear in my head when I actually read the series. I was so sad when I heard that he had been in an accident and was not able to record the last three, but I had secretly harbored the hope that he would recover and then he could read the last three. This hope was shattered when he passed away.

I think that SK should do a recording of all seven books in the series, plus Little Sisters of Eluria. He doesn't need to do it for the money, but for the fans. I know that there are many fans out there, myself included, that would love to hear the DT series read by the man who created it. I have the other audiobooks that he did, and now I want those.

I love the audio books too...last summer I stained the entire outside of our house while listening to the DT stories! For a few years I had a 30 minute drive to work, so I'd listen to them on the way there and the way back...some days I wished the drive was longer!

I agree. I've said that for years. I also wish he would include the sound-effects he had in his recordings. They really do add something to the recordings.

In a similar vein I've been wishing that King would have the Dark Tower series made into a full-cast audio drama with sound effects and everything. Just like what was done masterfully with the Chronicles of Narnia. I believe King would be great as Roland and then when they get up to - SONG OF SUSANNAH SPOILER where King plays himself, he can just play himself. :cool2:
