I like the way SK slipped in Jack Reacher. I'm a big fan of Lee Child's work too.

Just read that part and had a laugh...love the Lee Child books too!

I caught that too and wondered how many folks would pick up on it? I turned to the notes in the book but SK didn't make any reference to Lee Child. I guess it's just one of those literary 'easter eggs' for readers to find and check out if they catch it...

Does anybody happen to know if the Jack Reacher in the book (the guy who recommends Jackie Wettington to Colonel Cox) is the Jack Reacher of the Lee Child novels?

Indeed it is, I just saw that myself. It's confirmed by his reference as "the toughest goddam Army cop that ever served," as Jack Reacher is a former US Army MP and Investigator.

I just found it as well :) There's a few other little easter eggs in here as well.

I believe it's an indirect reference, yes.

He had been reading the Jack Reacher books at the time he was writing Under the Dome (and enjoyed them very much).

I knew that name sounded familiar, but I didn't know from where. I haven't read any Lee Child Books. I will have to pick one up sometime.

I've only read Bad Luck and Trouble, but loved Jack Reacher and long to invest more time in the series.

It has to be the same Reacher that Child uses, as he was also stationed in Germany for a time as an MP.
