I'll try not to be too purist when I go see the film, but I'm more interested to know if there are any plans to release the unabridged audio version to coincide with the movie release date. As a writer, this is one of those books I never fail to learn something from with each read. I'd love to have it on my Ipod so I can "read IT" when I'm in the car, on the line at the grocery store, etc.

Penguin Audio has plans to produce an audiobook of IT in 2010 but I don't think the release has anything to do with the remake of the miniseries. When I contacted them a couple of weeks ago about the production, they had not yet started the recording and I don't think they even had a reader in mind at that point. When I have any updates, I'll post them.

Is an audiobook of The Stand in Penguin Audio's plans along with It?

Penguin doesn't own the rights to The Stand--I think that would still be Doubleday but they do not have any plans to do an audio that I am aware of.

Do doubleday do many audiobooks? I have a lot of audiobooks and can't say I've encountered any for the authors I get.
