View Full Version : The "F" Word

Does anyone say the "F" word better than Samuel L. Jackson? I think not. Heck, they even reshot a scene in SNAKES ON A PLANE just so they could have him mutter it. And I was glad to hear him squeeze it out in 1408.

Al Pacino is also pretty good in that... and I also enjoy the with the classical saying for Blue Velvet (1986) "F*** you you F*** F***" ".

I have to admit a fondness for Sharon Stone's use of the "F" word in the interview chair just before she, ahem, "adjusted" her legs in Basic Instinct.

Some movie moments just tend to linger longer in the mind of a dirty old man. :eyebrow:

Even Richard Pryor purely pales against my wifes complete & total mastery of this particular verb... noun...adverb... adjective...conjunction!

Sometimes you just have to go to that level. It has to be percussive, like a snare drum popping hard from nowhere. Jackson does it well. "Snakes on a Plane?"

It gets wasted when there are other cusswords coming before it, even shi7, damn, or hell. 'Whoopsy daisy!' and the like work well to up the ascerbic potential of a big old "F-Bomb."

My favorite cuss-string is GDPOSMF. Sometimes I add the AH.

Usually when I'm talking about myself. Then I'll slide in an SOB.

Monty Python has described the "F" word in great detail. Look it up on youtube. If you need a laugh, well it's pretty much guaranteed

Some cuss words, if placed in proper context and at the right time are very effective as "Norman" in "On Golden Pond" so aptly pointed out even in the movie with the word "Bull-Sh..t"

On the other hand, the use of the term "friggin" by Dolores Claiborne was also effective.

....she also had a gem of a term which was "piss-squirts" when referring to the punks who put the graffiti on her house. :biggrin2:

Ha, ha, ha - I'd forgotten about that Monty Python bit. I'll have to forward it to my son - his generation think they invented the word!!

Yes, Monty Python does DO a good job it's called, "The Meaning of the Word F***", I have it on CD, and it's hoot, and it will get you through the adverb, adjective, verb, noun, and all that stuff.

But, Samuel L Jackson, is NOT the only one who can say the word great, I've heard others do it just as well.

Others may do it well, but Jackson is a tour de force. They even went back and reshot footage just to get him to say it. Now if that isn't speaking volumes.

He said it in 1408? Wow! Snakes on a Plane was a horrible movie with a horrible concept, but Samuel L. Jackson made it worth watching. Only once though. Never again.

George Carlin did a classic riff on the "F" word...

I love George Carlin, what was it 25 words you shouldn't say on TV? :grinning: Who would have guessed he was the narrator on Thomas the Train, my 2yr olds fav show.

IMO the best use of the F word by Sam Jackson was Pulp Fiction. Some of the best one liners came out of that movie. Totally had me

Joe Pesci can put a good draw on the word as he did in Casino, starring along side Robert DeNiro.

Lets face it, the guy is cool as f***! He even managed to make the Virgin TV ads look fairly cool here in UK a while ago. And that scene in Pulp Fiction where he and Travolta go and visit those kids..........classic!

No, Sam is the best. I wish I could find the promo ads he did when he was going to host an award show (I think it was mtv or maybe espn). The ads were about the executives being worried he was going to say the f word on the air. I remember those ads being very funny.
