I have been a huge fan of Stephen King's work for many years. Today I finished On Writing and was blown away. I laughed, cried and am inspired to unearth my own fossil(s)! I am thankful that Mr. King pushed through the pain to finish this insightful journey about the joy of writing.

On Writing was amazing! And I'm so glad he finished it, too, for if he hadn't, I don't know what I would've done. I just finished my very first novel at the age of 18 and it is mostly thanks to that very book. It gave me much encouragement to finish it over the summer, even when times were hard, but I did it. I did it right before school started back up again--I'm a senior in high school by the way. My first draft I finished, anyway, and I'm not going to lie, but the revising and editing process is rather difficult, and it's a long and very pain staking process--I think that's the word I'm looking for--but it's nothing that can't be done. =]
So are you planning on writing a novel, or something? You should if you like writing--(obviously you do since you read On Writing)--if you haven't decided yet. It's a wonderful experience and even if you get negative--like it had said in his book, though I haven't read it in quite sometime, so I kind of forgot most things--just keep moving forward no matter what. The one saying that I go by when i'm writing is to out run self doubt. If you let self doubt catch up with you, you are sure to fall and let it get the best of you.
Don't let it.
