Thank you for writing this book, it changed my life.
Your book “On Writing” has preformed the most elaborate jail break know to man. The book has set my mind free after 35 years of chains lashed around it. Placed there by teachers and critics and everyone else who has an opinion of how to properly format a novel/story. Your description of your writing process is a direct or exact description of mine. Friends used to look at me like I was insane, when I would describe the writing process. How the story and characters came to me across the black void and spoke to me. How they would dictate the story to me and grow right before my eyes. And how I could not predict where the story would end up and the joy of discovering the story myself was the best part about it. Thanks to a higher power I found this book.
I am glad I found out that a legend, like Stephen king writes in this fashion. When I finished this book it liberated my mind and soul. I have not felt this free since the summer in junior high after losing my virginity.
I know you question yourself about writing this book. I want you to know that it has changed my life and has set me free to peruse the fabulous adventure of writing. Capturing the stories calling out to us from the beyond, where only a select few can bring then to life… thx from the bottom of my heart, words can’t even come close to how I feel.
Thx to you I might be able to write the second part of my life, like you did the second part of this book and change one of my readers life.
