If you fill a sealed silver container with water at normal atmospheric pressure, and then submerge it to a depth of 380 feet, there's going to be a lot of pressure on it. Enough to crush it? As Wireman would say, maybe sí, maybe no, but I'd still be concerned.
Personally, I would have embedded the silver container in a block of concrete and then thrown it in the lake. Let Perse figure her way out of that.

Evil always finds a way to reappear. I do like the idea of duct tape. I use it on my kids sometimes and...well...maybe I've said too much.
Peace.

I agree with Fredo, Evil isn't airtight. Isn't that the beauty of most of King's endings? To always leave you with just enough to cotinue pondering after you have closed the book, if you got complete closure what fun would that be? If there were black and white answers to everything in life how boring would that be? And what use would our imagination be?

I was also concerned as well! I thought after all they went through to capture Perse that they might have taken better precautions with her. I do realize that the container was specially made, but still...I would have put the container inside some kind of metal material developed to withstand outer space or something. Eddie is rich, so money shouldn't be too much of an issue. I am not familiar with how silver withstands water and sand abrasion over the years but perhaps there was something more they could have done :oo:

Even if the silver container gets crashed... she is really deep in that lake. In water. So I think she will need quite a long time to get out of there.
But of course I wouldn't like to be there when she does. :)

Oh, it's definately open for a sequel if King ever wanted to explore Perse again. If not they basically said in the book that none of them really felt like Perse would be completely defeated. She'll be back again...someday.
