well the Ynks clinched the AL East this weekend--- coming back to beat 9 of 10 last games versus the Boston Red Sox.

(lost first 8 and miraculously finished 9-9 for the season)

Looks Like the Yanks should get league best record too...

and the sox should get the wildcard..so mayhaps a meeting in rd 2 , if both win first round of the AL play offs

Wow Terry i am shocked .. you hate the Yankees! ;-)

but the misinformation here not good-- blown ump calls? resulted in no loss of runs nor a deliverable issue to the Angels after the Outcome.

Blown call on the umpire for the Yanks, took away a run and ended the inning with men on base--- Result--Yanks still won 10-1.

Umpire calls in the playoffs have been horrendous for all teams, not jsut Yanks.

So how is it they cant win without umps blowing calls? u watching the games? I am.

The Yankees not only set standards for all to imitate but try to emulate (YES network, Merchandising, etc) and by doing this make the money to pay the highest payroll.

their going over th salary limit is legal and the money they have given to the other teams helped build Tampa Bay for example..giving Tampa Money and TPA used it wisely....

If it makes you feel any better RJ I hate the Phillies too and they have spring training 3 miles from where I live. I'm an equal opportunity hater. Will say one thing in the Yankees favor - George Steinbrenner does do a lot of good things for the City of Tampa. Derek Jeter, on the other hand, has become a bit of a joke with his 30,875 square feet of space, the seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom waterfront home he's building on Davis Islands (in Tampa). The locals are having a good time with that one.

I spent lots time in Tampa when I worked for PwC --offices right down block from Yanks ballfield--it seemed nicer than the rays stadium!!!

At least Jeter is he;pig ut the local housing market with construction jobs!! dude has to live somewhere in the winter :laugh: no? haha

man oh man a madhouse trying to get a world series shirt! moe's 6am opened after midnight the night of the win--- selling out like the black day shopping day .... truckload deliveries 4-5 x a day

Vendoe could have went with me i would have gotten seats and if he would have checked his email earlier yesterday --i could have had a breakfast with the yankees palyers met some-
