He does that sort of thing all the time to give a nod to other books he's written. He does not have any plans to write a sequel to IT.

Have you read 'Dreamcatcher'?

Long days and pleasant nights

I personally thank him for not writing a sequel to IT i read the book and watched the movie and thank them both for making me terrified of clowns. They were both very excellent though!

But better yet how is there a mural at all? If your going with the ending of IT the losers were forgetting everything. So how and when did they remember and built the mural?

they still knew there was a storm & kids were missing if not the details of pennywise & the sewers.

I enjoyed that part of the book. I thought it was creepy scene, like most of It. I'd also prefer that he didn't do a sequel, though I don't think there's a good explanation for the spray-painted message. Still, I think The Tommyknockers had better proof of the continuing existence then this book.

excellent question. i'd love an answer to this... its not like anyone else knew what was going on and even Mike Hanlon's diary was fading at the end of It

I always assumed the 'Pennywise Lives' graffiti was a remnant from the last awakening of Pennywise. As to the plaque itself, it might be a 'universe off' (like in the dark tower series) where the events of IT are known, or at least memorialized, or the plaque is only visible to people connected to the supernatural (like how EVERYONE in Derry couldn't see IT if IT didn't want them to).

IT is dead. Really, most sincerely dead.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR "IT" (don't know how to add the spoiler links)

In It, when they were squashing It's eggs, they left assuming they got every one (the same way they assumed IT was dead the first time). Maybe they were wrong and maybe Dandalo was one of them (although not quite a spider like it's mother, but what? a beetle of some kind if I remember right). It could have hatched and grown up, perhaps even been the source of the aura light that Ralph saw come out if the sewer in Insomnia. Perhaps even the runt of the litter and not in the same class of it's mother it couldn't fill in for it's mother. Instead, it decided to go elsewhere. As dangerous as it was, it was kinda of a loser, taking on a second rate comedian persona. It could have written the message on the statue as a sort of middle finger to the losers club, kidnapped Patrick Dansville and escaped to the White Lands, perhaps even through the house on Nebolt (sp?) St. which was like the gateway house in the Wastelands and Black House.
