It's not Steve's band -- he's just one of the members. He hasn't performed with them recently, but The Rock Bottom Remainders have done quite a few performances without him.

I'll try not to take too much offense at that. :smile2: We old fogies prefer to call it Classic Rock. :eyebrow::biggrin2:

Define "old fogie stuff," Joe. And be very careful with your answer... LOL!

Hey I like the Blackeyed Peas and Lady Gaga!

Hi,

Me too!

Classic rock and Lady Gaga are not mutually exclusive IMO.

Long days and pleasant nights

Hey Joe, you are such a blast.
I'm going to see Greenday next month, and I'm not THAT old!
Pretty toxic huh? Well I think it's rad anyway.
*That is so my new saying dood*

Aw come on, cut the "dood" a break....isn't he like 12, or something? From that perspective Black Eyed Peas is "classic", and Green Day is truly "old fogie".

ScarecrowJoe: You know Green Day are in their early 40s or something...right? :wink2:

True story: Couple of years back, I'm in a music store. Kid turns to his mate.
'This new band's cool!' (his actual expression wasn't 'cool' but something I can't get on here)
'Yeah? What're they called?' his mate asked.
.
.
'Nirvana.'

I almost wet myself laughing. What can I say? With age comes incontinence.

I'll take the old fogie stuff any day over the crap that's out there now.

I think more people will enjoy Lady Gaga's music if they are unaware of the extravigance she surrounds herself with. That being said I truely think she lives art. So much so that she is making a fool out of all of us!

yeah she is one weird looking dood, but her tunes are tight.

thinking of young listeners finding old bands...
2 electrical apprentices come to the house (no this isn't the start of a bad joke)
both are late teens and are basically the helpers -doesn't matter-anyway
1 says to the other, "you need to check out this band I found. they're great."
2nd one: "what's their name?"
1st: "Led Zeppelin."
2nd: "Really? what kind of stuff to they play?"
I went to my garage and cried both with laughter and pity for myself getting old.

Wait. Lady GaGa is a dood? I thought she was a grrl...

I like AFI, Chiodos, and DragonForce.... I'm more of the semi-fogie age of the guys in say, that band Dream Theater....

I went to the website and saw footage of Steve boogying. He has actual stage moves. He was entertaining...

"Weird looking" and "dood" being the operative words here. Did everyone get a look at that shot of her in the miniskirt with no underwear?:eek2: Eye bleach is needed. Everytime I listen to her songs, I think of that. WHY no underwear? WHY???

I think that Lady Gaga is brilliant. Not because of her songs, of which I couldn't name a single one, but because she has pulled a celebrity suplex on the music media. Rather than having muckrackers rifle through all of her dirty laundry looking to make a normal life scandalous, everyone is simply amazed at how bizarre she acts. Anyone willing to go on TV wearing a Kermit the Frog suit gets props from me.

As for the Rock Bottom Remainders, I imagine it would be a blast to see them in action. There's something endearing about watching mildly talented people putting on an earnest show.

As I have learned from my teenager, "dood" can be a girl now, apparently.

I keep hoping he will come by my guitar shop in Sarasota while he is down here for the winter, but I only sell lefty guitars and Mr King is a righty.
