“And then I thought, ‘Well, why don’t I find three more like this and do a book that would be almost like modern fairy tales?’ Then this thing started to add on bits and pieces so I guess it will be a novel.” That idea, according to King, is for a new Dark Tower (http://www.stephenking.com/DarkTower/) novel, a continuation of his epic seven-part fantasy/sci-fi/Western series about a lone gunslinger named Roland and his ongoing hunt for the Man in Black. “It’s not really done yet,” King admits of his magnum opus. “Those seven books are really sections of one long uber-novel.” Click read more to find out what other Dark Tower plans he has."
The whole article is great. Exciting!

That article was posted in March 2009 and lots of things have happened in the meantime. That's all I'll say about that for now.

I think it originally dropped the rest of the article you see down and whomever copied it just copied it with the rest of the article open. If you see what I'm saying.

People on Twitter are saying that there is definite plans for a Dark Tower Movie. Could this be the big secret?

Doubtful since it's not a big secret that there is going to be a movie.

Steve had told me over a year ago that he had an idea for a new Dark Tower story. He has been working on many different projects since then. I have not seen a finished Dark Tower manuscript among them but I also didn't see the poems that have recently become available.

I'm guessing that this news and the DT page with the November teaser are one and the same? I know I wont be sleeping much until I find out what it is, haha.

heretical thought
as a long time fan (i bought and read DT1 when it was released as a grant hardcover, back in the day) i kept up with the series, in the original, trade hardback: i read, astonished, as each book didn't just get better, but kings writing became, with each book, far more accomplished, far more evocative and lepas above what he was doing in the mainstream...
with 'wolves', i switched to the more easily found (and much more budgetary minded: four kids by then...whew)
king made noises after the accident, and said he felt obligated to finish the thing before he died...
and to me, and many of the long time readers i know...the last few books feel that way, too..
while i count 1-4 as, ascendingly, some of the best writing the man has ever done...
i think the last 3 are amongst the least involving: it's king-by-rote (heretical thought)
IF he's returning to the realm of roland..i hope he brings the passion that made, especially, 2,3 and that lyrical, astonishing major, mid section of 4 the absolute best writing he has ever done
just a humble opinion

OH! I've just started on my second re-read of the series... I really hope that there is some substance behind all this, and that I can delve into another DT-related novel after I finish this re-read up.

That's great!.. I stumbled across the "Drawing of three" in college (not knowing there were others), have not been able to put these books down since. The way these books intertwine with his other books is amazing. I can't get enough of these. Thank you.

Can anyone tell me who composed the music for the Discordia trailer and where I could find it...? Its amazing!

The music (several different pieces) was purchased from an on-line site so that we could use it legally.

I'm with ya. Its a great track. - Real orchestra and real choir. There is no substitute for the real deal.
It was considerably shorter in the original file. We edited the track in Acid Music to make it longer. It was just too short for such flavor.

You probably can't say on the board but a pm would be great if possible - was it magicboxmusic or someone similar?

At the Times Talk event in Times Square, Steve said the 8th Dark Tower book would come between W&G and Wolves and not deal directly with the main characters.
Loved the event! He was so funny, and such a genius. Awesome. I wish everyone could watch the whole thing.
Loving UTD. 60 pages in. "You're beautiful"

TimesTalks had agreed several months ago to allow us to have the file of the event that we could put on the site and as soon as we receive it, it will be available in the Multimedia section.
