In Wolves of the Calla there are many scenes worth mentioning, but while it features combat, and a lot of action, my own favorite scene is Roland dancing the Rise Dance. I just can't get enough of that part of the book and have read it so many times that the pages are worn out.
I also LOVE the story of Father Callahan, but I an a Salem's Lot fan.
What's your favorite part?

Finding out Father Callahan's plight is fun. The other scene that comes to mind is Jake and Oy's trip to the Dogan....
I have just started DT7 on my first read through... trembling with excitement.

I am envy at you for having this adventure still hidden at your future. This is a fantastic book. Enjoy it...

I liked the backstory of Callahan the most, and of course the final action scene where they fight the wolves.
There is one major part of the Dark Tower series that I dislike. It's the commala dance scene. Just overly nerdy to me. The whole come-come-commala, rice a gonna falla... gives me douche chills.

This is my second favorite book (The Dark Tower being my top) in the saga and my favorite part of it is from when Callahan get's caught by Sayre through when he meets Walter in the Way Station. It's just great.

I could picture my dead Great-Grandmother--inflamed with Arthuritis and osteoporosis--chunking orizas like there was no tomorrow because there wasn't one.
The Endgame was my favorite part.

Nice, but what are your favorite parts of WOTC?

I like the battle itself, and the visual of the Wolves is just awsome, robots with Doctor Doom robes who throw grenades and swing lightsabers, what could be better?

I love how the battle is over so fast, all that build up for it, it's so intense and i think the story needed that kind of focal point, it made sense, at least to me. Very well done the parts of the battle that SK decided to show us.

The scenes with Pere Callahan are my favorite. If it weren't for his flashbacks, I'd probably have had trouble reading the book.
And oh, I liked when Andy got his. Heh heh.

I luv following Father Callahan's history thru the novel. Let alone, Roland & all his new gunslingers facing the wolves themselves. I only wish that Nick (fr/ The Langoliers) was in it.

I like the short flashback to Jericho. I don't know why, but the part when cuthbert laughs and asks roland if they should charge gets me every time. Other than that, the part where jake shoots the plates from the air was pretty cool -- it was sort of the first time we see jake as a gunslinger. And the final battle with the wolves, of course. Surprisingly, I didn't like Callahan's story too much... probably because I was ansy to see them shoot up some wolves the entire time:smile2:

Many scenes had captivated me as yes, the Rize Dance, when Suzana throwed away the plates and finally when Edie comes to NY and finds Tower. I don't now why, but the last one gave me a very clear picture of Edie, how he mattured, how his face is now. I could draw him *and maybe I try to do it*.

Wolves was excellent!! I was drawn in from the very beginning. The roonts were a true twist of horror. Then when Callahan was there, i thought it was really cool.I found the wolves spiked my curiosity.I never trusted Andy for a second. The climactic gun fight ruled. One of my favorites

This and Song of Susana were my least favorite books of the series but I did like how the messenger robot was handled.

I loved Pere Callahan and everything about his story. Jake seemed like the MVP in much of this book because he and Oy sort of handled much of the background points of interest.

It's been awhile since I read it but the scene that stands out at the moment for me is right before the battle begins as Roland is getting everyone in their places. Of course, things don't go as planned but I thought the build up to the fight was excellent.

For me, the scariest thing SK ever wrote was the ending of WOTC. The news report about SK's death. I was listening to this book on audio (cassette actually) and when that part came on I was sitting in traffic. I was listening so intently to the description of the accident and his demise that I was pushing harder and harder on the brake trying to make my motionless car stop moving. I wasn't even aware that I was blocking up the line of cars behind me. The tape finally finished, went through the disclaimer then to silence and when the tape finally clicked off I nearlly jumped through the roof of my car and I don't have a convertible and wasn't wearing a helmet. My hands were actually shaking and that type of reaction is just nowhere near how things normally affect me. Christ on a bike, that scared me.

That's at the end of Song of Susannah, but I know what you mean. When I was photocopying the manuscript before I'd read the book that page leaped out at me and raised goosebumps. :eek2:

I love Eddie Dean, 'mayhaps' cause i see myself as an annoying smart-mouth(ass?), so i love it when he brings up some stupid joke/rejoinder and moves on when no-one's caught it yet but i think my fav is how Rosa invites Roland to her pad.....hello.
