I cried so much on that day, September 11, 2001, folks around me thought I knew someone personally in the towers or on one of those airplanes. But I didn't. All I knew was my heart was broken and life would forever be changed.

Just a couple of days away...... I will never get the images of that day out of my mind. Such senseless tragedy! I think that the day, September 11th, should become a national holiday, or for use of a better term, a national day of remembrance and it should be treated as any other holiday that is recognized by our government with all businesses closed. On that day, things forever changed in the world and in our hearts. Not only did almost 3,000 people perish but so did our innocence.

One of those days where we all remember "where we were" ... I was about to switch off the tele to go to bed when CNN broke news. I remember watching the smoke from the first plane and then watching the second plane live on air. Still gives me goosebumps thinking of all those poor people that didnt have a chance. The day the world changed in a way that it can never recover from

I was at my house - back then a caravan where I was living alone while I worked in the area. I opened the TV and the world was on fire. I thought it was a recap of a new movie and really thought nothing of it until I looked an hour later and it was the same image.

My thoughts are with everyone affected by the terrible events on this day. It has changed so much in the world and doesn't get any less distressing with the passing of time.

RIP Colleen D. who worked at Aon reinsurance on the 98th floor. She was my wife's bff and she is missed every day. We grieve with all those who lost someone they cared for that day and feel fortunate in having known her.

A sad day for the entire world, no matter where you live... that day changed our lives forever. Prayers for those who died that day, especially for those who gave their lives for others to live, and those who were there to help (Mary, a special prayer for your brother).

Those horrific images seen in TV and the memories of Sept 11 will last until the day I die.

A day to mourn. A day to remember. All who were lost on that day and the many days since. Either as a result of that's days direct actions, or as a result of the men and women of the armed forces serving, and dying, since that day.
Thanks to the countries that sent their forces to serve alongside our men and women, I think many of us see it as being an attack only on America. I saw it as an attack on all free nations on our little spinning rock.
Peace and love to all.

Sad, sad day...My daughter just reminded me that when it happened, I went to her school and took her home. I don't even remember doing that. I was putting my son down for a nap when I saw it happen on TV. I'll never forget.
My prayers go out to all the families that lost their loved ones.

My husband was at the twin towers on August 11, 2001. He was there on business, and spent some of that week taking pictures, some from the ferry with the towers in the background. A lot of the people he met and worked with that week died in the attack.

I was home. I'd slept late because my one-year-old slept late. She woke up, and I was giving her a bottle while watching CNBC. They were showing the smoking tower, and saying they didn't know much yet, but my impression was that they thought a small jet had crashed into the tower. Then as we watched live, we saw the second plane hit. I remember dropping the bottle on the floor.

I also remember going to Wal-Mart later in the day, just to be around people. Everyone was crying and/or dazed, and everyone was saying, "Can you believe?"

My friend planted herself on the main boulevard with an American flag and a five-gallon water jug decorated with red, white and blue streamers, taking collections for the Red Cross. She collected almost $45,000 in one day.

My husband was scheduled to give a seminar that night, and I asked if he was cancelling. He said no, he'd go and see if anyone showed up. Everyone showed up, all 45 people. They sang "God Bless America," and spent the evening discussing how proud they were to be Americans, how some of their children/grandchildren were going to enlist in the armed services because of the attack.

It still feels like yesterday...
For some reason I never turned the TV on that morning. I got ready and didn't turn on the radio in my car either. I got to work and the "Big Boss" barged through the front door yelling, "America's under attack!" He was a bit over the top so I thought he was playing a joke on us all. He said that an airplane had flown into the Twin Towers and another plane hit the Pentagon. I remember being shocked and scared. He made everyone go home that day. I went over to a close friends house and just stared at the TV and cried for most of the day! It was a life changing day for me.
I will forever be proud to be an American!

I'm Canadian but that doesn't make any difference. I have tears in my eyes as I write this. I remember clearly walking my dog, early in the morning and a woman said, Did you hear?...
I came home and turned on the TV. It was unbelievable and horrific. I will never forget.

My prayers go out to all who died and those who lost a loved one that day.
And to all of us who were forever changed.

It might sound really corny but the day I got my Eagle, Globe, and Anchor they played this song. I'm not ashamed to say it made us cry. 9/11 is the day I stopped being a 21 year old kid and became a 21 year old man. Definitely put things in perspective.

I lost 2 good friends that day.
Today we went to Warminster Barracks to meet our nephew.
He is about to go back to "Stan" as he calls it.
We had lunch and toasted those we miss from 9/11.
Gone
Never ever forgotten

We love you boys
