My first time reading a SK book was in seventh grade and it was the stand uncut. I've never read the other version, but I fell in love with this book. I've read it a few times now. but I wonder how the other version is different from this one. and what the major differences are. I hope they're not to different because it captivated me in a way I can't explain, but I love it.
I hope others feel the same as I.

Thread on this already, I believe, but as far as I know some of the differences include.....

1. "Cut" version doesn't have the added ending featuring Randall Flagg.

2. "Cut" version doesn't feature the character The Kid.

3. "Cut" version also features a lesser amount of dialogue between Fran and her parents.

I'm sure there are more things to add, but those are the ones I know of while I'm sitting here at work :)

Actually part of the novel where Trashcan and The Kid are traveling across the country is in the "cut" or 1978 edition. But in the 1978 edition The Kid is an old man who smokes cigars and makes a half hearted effort to have his way with Trash, Trash handles him easily.
