Well, I don't know how your holiday weekend was, but I sure hope that it was as great as mine. I found out that Half Price Books was having a 20% off sale of everything. So, there are three stores, about an hour and a half from my house. So, I filled up the tank, and on the road I went. Listening to the Grateful Dead blare away through the speakers, and the windows rolled down; it was a day of glory.

Walked into the store, and people were filling the isles like they were giving food away. I made my way to the hardback area, and found five or six King books that I needed, and quickly grabbed them, all in perfect condition; except for those pesky price tags that were to be found in the upper right hand corner.

Then, off to the paperback isle. The King selection was slim, only finding three or four that I needed to get. Grabbed em'. I turned around and all of Koontz's works were there, I filled up my cart. Check out.

Second store, just like the first. Found two more books that I needed in hardback, and more Koontz to boot.

I spent more than three hundred dollars, and wakled away with a truck full of books. AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I could not have asked for a better weekend. :biggrin2:

I love Half Price Book Stores. I have two in my area and I go there every other weekend. I always find great books there and the best part is you get them at a good price and they actually make sure all the pages are there. cant count how many times I've bought books at other discount places and its like half the book is missin or drawn in.

The family was working on an apartment restoration, Saturday. After four years, we are on the last unit of a twelve unit complex, and have finally stopped bleeding cash. We were on Stateline Ave. taking a lunch break when we passed by a pawn shop on the Arkansas side. We wanted to pop in and check out any pnuematic drills they might have. Then we saw it on the wall... a brand new AR-15, Bushmaster carbine. Also, they had a half case (500rds) of 5.56! And a box of about a hundred used magazines for $10 each! I picked out six good mags, while my brother had his background check run.

Ten minutes later we were back on the road with an additional life insurance policy that won't expire, or lose value. The rifles are more available now, but the brass-cased ammo is still scarce. We were pretty stoked to find it hidden away in a pawn shop. Good weekend!

Thanks for sharing that :). It's so nice ( and reassuring) to know others find the same joy.
