I borrowed a copy of Needful Things from my friend, and my son tore the cover. I want to replace it, but am having a heck of a time locating this exact edition. I'm hoping I can find one pretty close to brand new, as I don't want to giver her a ratty copy.

Here is what I know:
* The publisher is Signet. On that copyright page it mentions "First Signet Printing, July, 1992." However when I try to google that I am seeing a different cover than the book in my hand.
*Cover Art: Painting of store window reflecting fire. Doll; Open sign; shadow of Leland Gaunt stretching on the ground. The words "Stephen King" (in red) and "Needful Things" (in copper) are both shiny and upraised. The title is written directly beneath King's name (not on the bottom of the picture as I have seen on some copies).
*Cover price is listed as $6.99(U.S) & $7.99(Canada).

Anyone know which "edition" this is? Or if it is possible to find an almost new (or actually new) copy of it?

Is there any other info that might be more helpful/useful in identifying this edition?

Thanks guys!

Is it the same cover as on this page (http://www.stephenking.com/library/novel/needful_things.html)? Chances are that you may have to look on the secondary market as it has been reprinted with a different cover.

Yes, it is the same except that the Title is directly below Stephen King's name. And his name and the book title are textured and upraised.

Here is a link to the image of one being sold on ebay. I apologize if I am putting the link in improperly.

I looked at ebay (obviously, b/c of the link :biggrin2: ) but most of them with this specific cover are in pretty rough condition. I was hoping folks around here might know of some better places to look.

I could just get my friend a new one with a new cover, but personally I think that this specific cover is really cool. :grinning:

Thanks!
