I just finished Cell today (also my first Stephen King Novel), and I really enjoyed it..the ending kinda made me angry because it doesn't say what happened to his son lol. I'm just wondering if hes going to be making a squeal to Cell?
I'm very curious as to what happened to Tom, his son and the rest of the world :biggrin2:

Sorry, he doesn't plan to write a sequel.

I still think about this story when I see all of these people walking / driving around with the ear piece thingy. It also makes me think of the Cybermen from DR WHO.

I love the the satrical undertones of this novel, if you catch my drift. Its hilarious to think those jerks driving around with bluetooth could actually be mindless zombies if it were up to King.

You mean they're not already?? Anybody ever really watch their driving habits?

I never really felt like their was anything else to tell. The whole story was about Clays quest to get to his son, and ofcourse what was going on around him(them). He found his son for better or worse. I felt it was the perfect ending to the story, how his son and the world ended up was not that important.

You are going to find that many of SK's novels end on an ambiguous note, because I suppose life is pretty ambiguous.

ok since you cant handle the ambiguity of the ending Ill finish it for you....it doesnt work completely and the new pulse makes his son go into a life ending seizure. then his dad finds a bottle of prescription sleeping pills and a bottle of whiskey. He intermittingly takes them cries over his dead son becomes tired and lays his head on the boy's stomach and falls asleep never to wake up....The rest of the character start a succesfull carnival...the end

For all who missed this in Messages from SK on the main page:

Regarding Cell...
CELL SPOILER: "Based on the information given in the final third of Cell—I’m thinking about the reversion back toward the norm of the later phone crazies—it seems pretty obvious to me that things turned out well for Clay’s son, Johnny. I don’t need to tell you this, do I?”

I read Cell a couple of months ago. I'm in the middle of the road on this one. I'm not sure if I like it or not. But I do like how it got right into it from the beginning. Certainly not my favorite, but it was enjoyable.:sleepy:

When I finished the book I had a total 'what-happened-to-lardass' moment. Then what happened?
I did love it though. It fit together so perfectly.

I'd love to see a sequel, if not using the original characters, at least a story about the rebuilding of society. Then again, that is what The Stand is about right?
Hmm... maybe I'll do it myself.
