THE DRAWING OF THE THREE is one of my all-time favorite Sai King outings.

I've only recently started rereading it, and each time am floored by Eddie Dean's ordeal on the plane. It leaves me claustrophobic every darned time! Even though I know how that certain passage ends, I still get sweaty-palmed reading about it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one in the series. My favourite part being roland's confrontation with the two policemen first at the ammunition store, then at the pharmacy. Cracks me up just thinking about it.

Drawing of the Three is my favorite book in the quest for the Dark Tower.

I love Eddie Dean. I love the battle in Balazar's office. And I love those nasty lobstrosities.
So many threads in the book that lead me in different directions - Balazar to Ginneli to Thinner. Roland's bullshooters eyes to Clint Eastwood to all the Spaghetti Westerns.
Odetta Walker to Mississippi and JFK.
I can go on and on..
I consider this to be some of the finest storytelling or wordslinging that I have ever experienced.

This is my favorite Dark Tower book...I've lost count of how many times I've read it or listened to it on tape...I love so much about it I can't begin to list everthing!

I agree! This is definitely my favorite in the series...and Eddie is a priceless kinda guy. Love him!

This book has a huge amount of fantastically invented scenes in it. The plane scene is so well done and you'd think it would be difficult to write such a thing, but King does it brilliantly and it's so funny during moments haha.

"The drawing of the Three" was amazing! I had very clear pictures, I felt like I was in the plane, next to Edie and watched him:grinning: And now that I'm writting these lines I have the vivid image of Edie in my mind! Very nice book, it sucked me inside the story!

I have just recently finished re-reading this one also. It is definitely the one that got me hooked; to be honest when I first read The Gunslinger I wasn't sure what to think. It was so different from every other King book that I almost didn't continue. Boy am I glad that I did! Right around the time I was nodding off I was hit with the description of what Roland saw when he opened the door. It was fantastic to be able to use the clues that were given to sort it out; at first I thought it was some sort of church but when it became obvious it was a plane....Wow.

The terms Roland used were unforgettable and defined his character for me in a big way; The clearing of the Customs. Tooterfish. Fotergraphs. Astin

When he was using Mort was some of the most exciting reading I have ever experienced. I just loved his giddy joy at fiirst of all seeing the "Shooters Bible", then actually finding his bullets and finally realizing how many came in a box. So simple, subtle yet so powerful. The showdown with the cops was nothing short of stellar, especially when he told them they forgot the face of their fathers and should be sent west. Something that I am sure, the first time through, I had no idea what it meant but seeing it again after finishing the story it is much more clear to me.

If I had to pick a favorite in this series, this would be it.

Love the part when the cops (years later) see The Terminator and freak out.
