Hello everyone,

I come to you not for myself but for a Sailor who is serving our country right now and happens to be a huge fan of Steven King. I stay in touch with this sailor by letters and I wanted to send him some books to read. I wanted to send him Stephen's latest books written however I have been told that he has just been releasing older stories. Not sure if this is true? Anyway the lady at the bookstore to me to buy Blaze she said she thought this was a story that Stephen wrote years back under his old name and it never was released? Is this true?? I really wanted to send this Sailor something he hasn't read before. If anyone here can help me I would greatly appreciated it.

Thank you,
Blue

Blaze was, in 2007, a new release of a book Stephen King wrote years earlier but had not published. It was put on out under his pen name, Richard Bachman.

Hi Blue and welcome to the board!

Blaze is a novel written by Stephen King under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. In the author introduction, titled Full Disclosure, SK says that he wrote Blaze in 1973 but it was never published. He assumed the novel disappeared over the intervening 30 years until our own Ms. Mod found it in the Fogler Library. SK updated it and it was published in 2007. If your friend likes Of Mice and Men, he'll appreciate this story. It's a quick read and a good story.

If you're looking for more recent SK books to send him, try Duma Key (novel) or Just After Sunset (short story collection). Both are excellent and represent the latest in SK's library of work. Hope this helps!
