hi,
my son loves the movie maximum overdrive. he plays it all day long. i havent watched it this much since i was a kid. i wanted to get him the happy toys truck with the green guy on the front. is there somewhere i can buy it? or.. maybe i can make it out of a truck model or something? its gotta be almost exact cuz he will know the difference, try to correct it, and end up breaking it. yes he is young, and already has fantastic taste in movies he shouldnt be watching at his age, but what the heck i did when i was his age and i turned out okay. haha. i already had to get him a cujo dog, and a christine car. those were easy. this one is a bit tough. any help would be great. thanks so much.

I've got the official CHRISTINE car, too. That was a nifty addition to the Stephen King bookshelf.

As for the truck? No idea. The "green guy" is the Green Goblin, though; Spidey's old nemesis. If you ever find a place selling the truck, though, make sure to post a link. I'd love to have one!

One of the most fun movies ever made. NO info on the truck, sorry. I would think that if there was one made they would have one on display at Dysarts ( the truckstop insperation for the story) . There is not one there however.

I have connections where I can get these toy trucks made small scale. The only thing stopping me is finding a way to get the rights from Mr. King. If anyone knows how I can go about getting permission to do this please head me in the right direction. I think if these were marketed correctly it would bring sales of the DVD up big time as it would catch a whole new generation of viewers! It would be a win - win situation for everyone!

Propmaster: I wish I knew where to send you. Getting one of those toy trucks would be awesome! I have my fingers crossed that you can get the right connections.

I would think that with this being the official Stephen King site that surely someone here would have the right connections to get me in touch with who I need to so I can make this happen.

If you're trying to do something that was related to the movie, then Steve is probably not the person who would be able to give permission. It would be the film rights holder. I have no idea who that currently is and at this time, do not have the time to research it. Also, each time a film is made a production company is set up just for that film. Once the film is done, the production company also ends so it's not that easy to track down the right contacts especially for a film that was produced over 20 years ago.

In other words, don't worry much about it unless you start making a whole lot of money. If you enjoy doing it and can stay "under the radar," have at it.

Thanks Ms. Mod for your helpful information. I will do some research and see if I can find out. If anyone else wants to help search please do.
