hi. was reading in that secret windows (collection of stuff by sk s'pposed to be a companion piece to on writing) and sk said something like 'love is deaf' is an idea that runs through the dark tower books. agree or disagree? what's your thoughts on it.

there's spoilers here so if you haven't read the series, go away, come again some other day.
me. i'm torqued off at roland for allowing susan to die is that an example of 'love is deaf'? say, for instance, roland experiences a kind of deafness when he fails to see that in his actions w/susan, he is mimicking what marten and his mother did. roland was torqued off at his mother about that. but steven knew for two years. so, could steven be experiencing a kind of deafness w/regard to what his wife did w/marten.

what exactly does it mean, 'love is deaf'?

To me it means it hears nothing but what exists within the lover's head. No external claim, fact or position can change it.

Children are more loveable and drunken women don't sound so bad if you have it for one! But the honeymoon subsides and although love tries to fly in the face of banshee voices it's surely a matter of selective hearing and not stone cold deafness.

I could never love a person who had bad taste in music.

We all float down here.
