hi!
has anyone had a look at the Burj Dubai tower and thought that its architect must have read the DT series?
when i first saw it i felt a chill, like looking to DT from a distance with Roland by my side.
i wonder if Adrian Smith, who first got the idea and then Skidmore,Owings and Merrill might have read the books and imagined it.
i cannot post photos yet, but just have a browse on the net and see it.
it will be a wonderful building when finished, i wonder if it has some magic!

Burj Dubai is amazing they re-named it Burj Khalifa in honour of the UAE president. Shame i left a week before the opening would of loved to see all the fireworks.

Gotta read DT !

Well.. It's not that I don't find it impressive but... it scares me. I can't think of working inside there :oo:

Every time I see it, or even think of it, I can't help but think about the Tower of Babel.

That's a sight for sore eyes, i don't see why people feel the need to create such eyesores. It's impressive architecture for sure, but it sticks out like a sore thumb, which i know is the point.

...or a phallic symbol. This is now the biggest/longest/tallest phallic symbol in the world. They also drive pure gold Mercedes cars in this city and are completely and desperately broke as a nation.
We now know what is most important to them as a culture.
