Thia may have been discussed already and if it has cry pardon.
It may also contain spoilers for those new to the series so please be warned.
At what point in the story COULD Roland break the cycle and change the outcome of his quest? I know what point I think he could change and at what point is the most appropriate but wondered what other people thought?

Hi,
By picking up the Horn of Eld after the battle of Jericho Hill IMO.

I think he's already made one change -- picking up the horn of Eld. Other possible changes for the future: not dropping Jake while pursuing the man in black. Other instances where he was willing to sacrifice his ka-tet in pursuit of the tower. And, finally, saving the Tower, defeating the Crimson King and then turning away from the Tower without entering it. I think that's the final lesson he needs to learn.

i figure it'd be the point where he fails to see marten in himself, back when he's with susan. sure, she wasn't married, like his mother was, but he became like marten then, with susan and he caused her death. may as well say he killed her. the bastid. i think at one point he thought about that, how what he was doing with susan was like what marten did with his mother. cuthbert didn't hit the blockhead hard enough. that or roland has a real hard head.
