Hi, I've decided I want to read all the Castle Rock stories, but I can't find a reliable list. I found one on wikipedia:

*Creepshow
*The Dead Zone
*Cujo
*The Body
Uncle Otto's Truck
*The Dark Half
The Sun Dog
Needful Things
It Grows On You
The Man in the Black Suit

*means I've read it

And then there's also a list of books that only reference the Castle Rock. I've decided I only want to read the books where a significant portion of the story takes place in the town. So is this an accurate list?

There are others where it's mentioned, e.g. Nona, The Tommyknockers, Lisey's Story, Mrs. Todd's Shortcut, but you have the ones where most of the action takes place in Castle Rock according to the list I have.

Hi,

Welcome to the MB, and keep posting!

I've long thought that there's a niche for a Castle Rock Concordance, along the lines of Robin Furth's superb Dark Tower Concordance.

I believe Stand By Me & Needful Things are two books that take place in Castle Rock

~I recently read Uncle Otto's Truck. I found it very disturbing and creepy. The Sun Dog was also creepy. Both stories just gave me a this dreadful feeling, because I knew I was waiting for something bad to happen.

Those are the only two I remember from your list (I think I read The Man in the Black Suit, but it was long ago so I don't remember it). I have just started The Dark Half, and then I plan on reading Needful Things after that.

I think the ones you have listed are the main Castle Rock stories, but there are a couple I have read that reference in; The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon and Under The Dome. Both of those are some of my faves by King (along with Rose Madder) so if you haven't read them yet, those are some I would def. recommend.

I cannot exactly say why, but to me that was one of two creepiest stories I have ever read. The other one is "The Colour Out of Space" by H.P. Lovecraft. Scary shift!
