I don't know about anyone else, but when I read I always listen to music when I can. The Dark Tower is certainly no different. However, I've found myself listening to specific songs when I do. These are just a few of my favorites:

The Door by Silverchair

Red Right Hand by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Hey Man Nice Shot by Filter

What would you imagine as The Dark Tower Soundtrack?

The House of the Rising Sun would go well for me - you know, kind of a sad Wild West style.

But that's a very lovely game you came up with Nutty Bavarian, and I'll give it some thoughts.

And we have to add these:

"Velcro Fly" --- Z.Z. Top
"Someone Saved My Life Tonight" --- Elton John
"Iron Man" --- Black Sabbath
"Ordinary World" --- Duran Duran
"Lithium" --- Nirvana

No Quarter be Led Zeppelin has to be in there somehwere. Roland even says it several times, "GUNSLINGERS, TO ME! RIDE THEM DOWN, NO QUARTER!"

A few more to the list
In Time - Mark Collie
Ramble On - Led Zeppelin
19th Nervous Breakdown - The Rolling Stones
For some reason I can see Eddie Dean listening to "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man - The Bob Seger System.

"Further on up the Road" by Bruce Springsteen.

I don't know how you can listen to music when you read, though. I find it too distracting. If I've got music on, especially music I really like, I'm reading the words, but hearing the song. The story doesn't sink in at all.

You Are by Pearl Jam

This broken wheel is coming undone
And the roads exploding
But you're keeping me strong
Rolling along with you,...

Love is a tower
And you're the key
Leading me higher
When you let me in

Keeping us close,... so close
On down the line

Sometimes I burn like a dot on the sun
With no one knowing
But you're keeping me strong
Rolling along with you

You are a tower of
Strength to me
The darkening hour
Sees light again

Ooh wah, ooh wah, you are...

Love is a tower
Of strength to me
I am the shoreline
But you're the sea

You are.

Oh, come on! There has to be some AC/DC in there somewhere. It worked perfectly for MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE. Hee hee.

I know they did ZZ Top's Velcro Fly in Lud, but I think AC/DC's War Machine would fit pretty well considering the messed up nature of Lud.
