Can anyone pinpoint what kind of tea they are all ways talking about in this book? I read it and gave the book away but forgot to write it down. Sounded refreshing and its really really hot where I live :)

Thanks!

If I remember correctly, it is based on a strong green tea. Many Westerners, myself included, can't handle it on an empty stomach. All I can say is that it tastes good going down, but not so much on the way back up...

Iced green tea with just a bit of honey.

Does sound refreshing!

Hmmm... I thought it was either green tea or chamomile. Both taste great chilled with just a bit o' honey.

I thought it was white tea (harvested young, sooo, you see) with a smidge of honey. Twins got harvested young too.

Ah, I always think of Wireman's green tea and how good it tasted to Edgar the first time he drank it. It was like "liquid silk," or something like that. :)

Apparently it's silky smooth.

It's iced green tea with a tablespoon of honey per pitcher, according to Wireman. The honey's a trick he learned while cooking on a tramp steamer in the China Sea.... ; )

Iced green tea. If you don't want to mess around trying to concoct something you have never drank, you can always buy some in a bottle. They have it at Wal-Mart. Of course, it isn't as good as homemade, but it will probably give you an idea of what the homemade stuff would taste like. It is sort of refreshing at first, but I find it gets really old really fast, so I'll stick to my regular old dirty-dishwater-looking tea . . . with lemon, of course. Have a nice day.

My wife and son have asthma. They have moved from a whole slew of fancy and expensive "preventative" drugs to using hot green tea and honey to treat it. Tea works better and is about 10,000 percent cheaper than advair, serevent, flovent, and the requisite albuterol and the damaging prednisone. Of course, I am not a doctor and do not prescribe any treatment for any body.

I know this is a very old thread, but I couldn't help it. While reading this book, I couldn't get the green tea idea out of my head. I had to try it. So I bought some plain green tea bags and made it just like Wireman suggests, just a tablespoon of honey, then chill. I LOVED it, now I'm totally addicted!! I recommend it highly.

I wondered about this while reading and was reminded of the DT gunslingers (ithink) drinking white tea I think in Majis . There was a comment by the young gunslingers about the ice used for this white tea drink.... course its different tea but I couldnt help but notice the tea reference. interesting. My mother used to prepare a green tea with honey, sometimes sugar. We preferred the sugar-probably cause we were kids and easily addicted to that sweet stuff! lol
