Read the book some time ago but now realise the feelings of our main character. My sleep pattern is reducing as I get older and its a real bummer cause I love my dream life. When I wake up real early I can't resist looking out the window for small men with sissors.Interesting take on the abortion issue too.:

I too find myself waking earlier as time goes by. Used to sleep till noon on the weekends, but not now. However with the publishing of SK's new novel I do intend to spend my time reading instead of getting up and doing things I should, say like housework, shopping, etc.
Nah, who wants to do that?

i read this book years ago and when i was pregnant with my first child. the reason i started to read it was because i could not sleep and thought it might help well did i not stay awake untill the book was finished. then still could not sleep after that cos the baby was sitting on my spine lol. i think this was the first time i actualy got on to sk's books.

I suffered from insomnia as a teen (14 was my worst year ever, but it went on through adolescence. When I read this book I remember thinking: That's it, this is how it feels. The way dream-life and wake-life seem to melt into each other and you don't know what's what anymore.
I wonder if Mr. King suffered from insomnia himself. The description is pretty close to mark.

i think i read somewhere that he did. i've had different off and on insomnia my whole life. i remember being 3 and having sleep problems even then. i related to that element of the book so well, because it's true, there is nothing out there for it that works, it seems.

Insomnia ist großartig geschrieben worden. Hoffentlich wird mal der "The Dark Tower"- Zyklus verfilmt.
Use German translator for English (sort of) :-)
