I mentioned a possible connection between these 2 evil entities in another post of mine...... Oddly enough in The Stand section though. So I thought I would try and flesh out my theory more and put it in one of two places it might actually make sense (it was between this section and the Desperation section.) Might as well talk about the differences first. Tak seemed to be trapped within the mine in both books he appears. Whereas Perse isn't so much trapped as fluctuating between asleep and awake. Tak uses animals and people sometimes through direct possesion other times by commanding them in another language. Perse has her crew (not in the ghetto sense) which consists of people she has had in killing particularly by drowning. She can influence and control others through Edgar's paintings. She can also pervert and use the creations of those she gives power to, ie: Libet's Big Boy (He has TEEF!) and the creepy ass illusion of the Gardner. Though I know thats not all of them I am going to move onto some similarities. Perse seems to be centered in a china doll. The China doll could have some relation to the Can Tah from Desperation. I beleive Can Tah was said to mean Little God. And in a vision or something similar Edgar refers to Perse as a god. They are both evil with Perse seeming to be more directed towards a certain goal though we never find out what exactly. And Tak is just chaotic seeming to want nothing but the sufferning of others. As with all my posts I would love to hear everyone's thoughts about my off the wall theories. I have want to thank everyone thats messaged me to say hi I can't really post a response until I get to ten posts or I would have loved to thank you all there. This place is amazing and I really hope you all don't get to sick of me and my weird questions theories. Cheers ALL!

Great examples about the possible connections between Tak and Perse, but on a selfish level, I must say I can't consider a connection. I love Perse, and I think "she" is the best new villian of the decade. I consider "her" a new and isolated (in her little trap of fresh water...) piece of a one-piece puzzle. Of course, . . . we're talking about a King character here . . .

I can see the connections, but I think the similarities are too small to be notewothy. Tak and Perse's only strong similarity is that their physical form/powers are manifested in small statues, and that both are only defeated when shut off from the rest of the world by physical means (i.e. locked away in a mine/lake-bottom), and that both are otherworldly entities. But even then, the similarities begin to waver.

I think many of these entities are related with the "Outsiders" that are mentioned in other titles... the beings that live in todash space... Similar entities but not quite the same. Think of Dandelo and It also, I think they share many similarities.

You mentioned Perse being centered in a China doll. Wasn't Tak from the China Pit? Coincidence?
