I've heard rumours..
Think I read it somewhere on this board aswell? Just curious because i'm going to be reading both Talisman and Black House shortly.

Yes, both King and Peter Straub said that they plan to gather again someday soon to write the final part of the Talisman trilogy.

I am really, really, really, really, really looking forward to a third installment.
I'm re-reading Black House at the moment and savoring it once again.
I agree with John Dalglish: Henry Leyden is the coolest cat in all of King-Straub-dom.
He'd better have a freakin' twinner in The Territories.

i wonder why people decided way back that trilogies were the way to do a series, rather than...a quartet, for instance.

I am getting excited just thinking about it. The Talisman is like a good memory. Thinking about Jack and the boardwalk just makes me smile. Oh and Wolf. I cannot listen to Bark of the Moon without thinking of him. I think thats the name of the song.

I'm reading Black House again, and the thought of a sequel to this is both exciting and -- hmmm. Disquieting.
I'd forgotten how parts of this book scared the bejeezuz out of me. Heh.

Steve told me this morning (yes, I was nagging him, JohnD :smile2:) that he and Peter are looking at starting this in two years as that's about how long it will take each of them to clear their schedules of the projects they are working on now.

I haven't read either the Talisman or Black House yet. Seems like I'm always reading something and I can't squeeze them in.

They're well worthwhile. Especially The Talisman for me although I liked Black house too. The interesting thing is, people tend to class them together but the second book isn't really a sequel in the strict sense of the word. It's a very different kind of story, but also good in it's own way.
I'm very much looking forward to the third book. That post by Ms Mod was 2006 by the way, hee hee. I think Mr. King and Mr. Straub will get around to it eventually though. I suspect we might see a eighth Dark Tower book first though at this rate. Which would be most welcome too.
I hope with the third book we see more adventures in the Territories though. Black House mostly happened this side, and when he did cross over, it wasn't always the Territories. Come to think of it even with The Talisman there wasn't as much Territories stuff as one might think, although significantly more than Black House.
I hope a third book will make any connection between Mid/All-World and the Territories more clear too. I remember Bev Vincent considered the Territories to be a borderland region of Mid-World in his book although I personally interpreted those DT related passages in Black House differently. For one thing the feel of the place is somewhat different although both are vital places in their own way. And the Territories is a smaller tighter place with the close horizon and all. Mid-World/All-world seems to be stretching apart.
Went off on a bit of a waffle there. Heh.

Just finished reading Black House last night. Great, great read. Can't wait for the third installment. If I had to guess the story will focus around Ty and Jack. Excellent.

I so hope there is a 3rd. I just recently read The Talisman and The Black House. I so loved them both. After I finished the Black House, I was thinking to myself, "there HAS to be a third" Just by the way it ended. It had an 'open' feel to it-like the story wasn't quite over.:cool2:
