discontinuity(spoilers?)

I have just begun reading The Stand, and so far I have enjoyed it immensely. But I did notice something rather odd.
In the newer version, it would seem that Vince Hogan dies twice. In the paperback copy I have, on page 145 it says he dies at 6'o'clock that evening. And then on page 187 he is alive again after roughly 48 hours has passed as described in the book.
And then he dies again. lol

I could be wrong, so if someone already knows about this, please let me know. ^^

Huh? How did he die? Which one is he again?

I think since you can just hover the link to this before you click on it, and see that it's about "The Stand" and "spoilers" that we don't need to put this stuff in spoiler-wraps.

Sooooo, who is he? How did he die (first time? second time?)
