Hi,
They feature heavily in Bag of Bones - Kya's 'fridgeafator people'.

In It, there's a kid named Patrick that is crazy and likes to place animals in a fridge in the town dump, and watch them as the days pass and they slowly die. There's questions of why the guy that runs the dump didn't rip the door off this particular fridge (there may have even been referrence to some kid that died in a fridge years prior, but I can't remember).
Hope this helps.

I worked folding laundry (sheets, especially King sheets...Ugh!) using this thing where to clamp one side down, fold, unclamp,fold,re-clamp...it was a pain in my bum and I hated it.
So this story made me laugh (as sick as it sounds)...
I have always been afraid of machines such as the 'Mangler' and used to have nightmares of them coming loose from their cords and attacking us workers as were at home,in bed at night !

Thouroughly enjoyed this one ! Similar to Christine i.e. (animating inanimate objects etc.) ! Does anyone know if the movie is as worthy ?

I love the kind of monsters that were inanimate objects before. We never know what to expect or when it will wake.
Still, for a karakasa, it`s pretty big...

Speaking of a fridge with a child inside. Wasn't that at the dump in Salem's Lot ? If not maybe I'm getting some stories mixed up.

I was pleasantly surprised the first time I read this story. My head conjured up a completely different story from reading the title "The Mangler".
I love the idea of that thing being loose and roaming the streets almost like a mechanical dinosaur.

This story lost me once it was out in the streets...although I did like the sense of dread that situation expressed!
