I wish Mr. King would considering publishing more short "Children Like" stories (although hardly appropriate for children - accept those who like to be frightened) - short, lovely and classical.
Did I know what would happened in the end? Obviously, as we all know that prince charming will get his princess one way or the other. Did that affected my enjoyment of the book? Yes, I think in some ways it made me like it more...

I read this book for the first time when I was in the 4th grade. I'm sure if my parents had any idea how violent the story (and those glorious Bernie Wrightson illustrations!!) were they wouldn't have allowed me to check it out of the library. I devoured it over the course of one night. It started my lifelong love of King's work and I've been a Constant Reader ever since.

I guess if only parents knew what their kids read, or watch, or hear about from their friends many of us would grow in dark rooms and never be allowed out... :smile2: Luckily for me I was allowed to read what I want and by the age of 11 I was shaking in fear reading Pet Semetary.
Of course as things turned out, I LIKED to shiver in fear .

You know what I liked about this short little story? It scared the heck out of me and I am 50 years old! It was so cool to have my heart go pitter-patter again because of a story that I haven't felt do that in what 40 years or so. Neato bravo Stephen and thanks.

My first novel - DIFFERENT SEASONS (where have we heard that title before ~ HA!) - was loosely based on CYCLE OF THE WEREWOLF.
I absolutely love it. I often wonder what it would've looked like had we got the calendar instead...

I think CotW was one of my first King books - and it was because of the illustrations that I read it. Ironically my dad saw that it had pictures and decided that a King book with pictures must be suitable for kids.
I remember pilfering Silver Bullet from my brothers video collection and sniggering with laughter throughout!

And I think we all know who rocks the house in Silver Bullet. Uh huh, that's right. Gary Busey!

I let myself take a while to read this. I hate reading books in such a short time unless I don't like the book; then I read it really fast. Weird, huh?
I loved "Cycle of The Werewolf". My only disappointment was that it was so short! I wanted at least thirty or forty pages more!
